The adventure is nonstop, making this an ideal choice for reluctant readers.... Detailed black-and-white illustrations blend well with the text, and will keep kids engaged. We love this series in my house, and eagerly await the next installment. This series is a great introduction to fantasy and adventure. The villains are just the right level of scary for a young reader. Perfect to the early reader who isn't yet ready for books like Harry Potter or The Series of Unfortunate Events.
My son, 9 yo, loves these books. I can’t say enough good things about them. They hold his attention and he is actually excited about reading, which is a huge accomplishment.
My son loves these books. When they arrive I don't even have to ask him to read, he grabbed it and was done in one day.
We read this series to my 6 year old son and he loves it! It’s perfect for his age because he understands it, even though he can’t read it completely by himself and it has lots of pictures too. A great chapter book!
My 10 year old grandson loves this series and they are not too difficult to read, but still offer some challenging words.
My soon to be 8 year old grandson loved book one and I gave him this book (2) in his Easter basket. He was thrilled. Pre-ordered book 3 for his birthday and it’s on its way! Book 4 (final of series) will be released this July. My grandson said he wants the entire set of books so his little brother can read them when he gets older. Sweet.
My son adores these books! Definitely looking forward to the next!
My 10 and 8 year olds love this series of books. I have even read a couple and they are filled with adventure. Great series.

Shipping took a while but USA/Italy are not really close so it's ok. Very interesting articles, with lots of images and examples. Great for every type designer not just focused on latin alphabet
The first half of the book contains well-written essays on typography from various typographers from around the world:Voices, languages and scripts around the globe / Robert BringhurstUnicode, from text to type / John HudsonITC Cyrillics, 1922- / Maxim ZhukovHow do the Japanese read? / Akira KobayashiAn approach to non-Latin type design / Fiona RossA primer on Greek type design / Gerry LeonidasZvi Narkiss and Hebrew type design / Misha BeletskyType ramblings from Afrika / Saki MafundikwaArabic type and typography / Thomas MiloCivil Type and Kis Cyrillic / Vladimir YefimovPickled herring and strawberry ice cream / Adam TwardochThe other half of the book contains typographic visual examples and work from famous typographers in color and B/W. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in studying typography. Essays are better written than those on "Looking Closer" series.
This is by far the most beautifully designed book I have. The binding is elegance like I have not seen in a long time. Definitely gives off that "wow" factor when you first open the box.But it's what is inside that counts. It is put together so well, the writing is fantastic and well illustrated. The articles are of great interest and will be as essential to me as Bringhurst's Elements of Typographic Style has been. Highly recommended.
